About Spinny.name - Fair Random Name Picker
Welcome to Spinny.name — the free online Wheel of Names and random decision picker built for educators, teams, event organizers, and families worldwide.
Why We Created Spinny.name
Whether you are a teacher looking for an engaging classroom student picker, an event organizer conducting a live giveaway, or simply making a random decision with friends, our customizable spinning wheel provides a fun, fair, and seamless experience.
Many existing online randomizers have become bloated with heavy scripts, mandatory account registrations, intrusive popups, or questionable pseudo-random algorithms. We engineered Spinny.name from the ground up as a lightweight HTML5 Canvas application that loads in milliseconds, runs at a smooth 60 frames per second, and synthesizes sound effects directly in your browser using the Web Audio API.
Our Core Principles
Cryptographic Fairness
Instead of basic Math.random(), Spinny.name utilizes your browser's native window.crypto.getRandomValues() API to guarantee unbiased, statistically uniform outcomes on every spin.
100% Client-Side Privacy
Student rosters, participant names, and saved presets never leave your device. Everything is stored locally in your browser's storage, making Spinny.name safe for schools and workplaces.
Zero-Latency Performance
With procedural Web Audio synthesis and hardware-accelerated canvas rendering, the wheel responds immediately on desktop computers, interactive classroom smartboards, tablets, and mobile phones.
